How to Create a Digital Cookbook with Notion
Collect your family recipes and turn them into a beautiful, shareable, searchable cookbook with this quick-start template
In the last 24 months I've used Notion for a lot of things: Process Docs, Daily Sprints, Client Proposals, Book Outlines, but perhaps the most fun and awesome way I've used it recently was to create a cookbook of family recipes! It turns out that a lot of people are interested in doing the same thing.
Benefits of Using Notion for Creating a Cookbook:
- Easy-to-organize Gallery View for browsing recipes
- Document your family recipes for all of time
- Search for recipes or ingredients once you're done
- Update it in just a few clicks with no additional downloads
- Share it by simply sending a link
Why did I make this available to the public?
There was a ton of comments, questions, and likes when I announced that I was using Notion to write my book. After seeing such a successful use case, I decided to create a cookbook for a loved one who was missing her family back home. Working with her sister, we created a cookbook of recipes that she can carry in her pocket!
How hard is it to make?
This template is super easy to use. I've made it quick to get started and even provide an additional step-by-step guide using a tool called Tango for those who want to build it from scratch.
How about styling?
You can make your cookbook minimalistic or give it some personality––I even added a (free!) Canva template to create a custom cover for your cookbook. You can also change the icons to suit your taste.
Have questions or feedback?
You can always send me a note via email at tanya@moushi.co (yes, .co!) or send me a DM on twitter.
I hope this helps you collect and share meaningful recipes. 💛
PS: 50% of sales from this template will go to the little sister who helped me make this. She lives all the way in Iraq. Her name is Farah and it's her Mom's recipes we're using in this demo content :) Feel free to try 'em––they're authentic and delicious.
